Under the program “Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID)”, RDPR proposed successfully to the program and hosted Mr Liam Sharp in September, 2013.
The volunteer supports RDPR in microfinance programs through implementing study and evaluation for RDPR’s current microfinance program as well as holding training courses to enhance staffs’ capacity. He also had practical suggestions for improving its microfinance programs such as introducing and guiding software of interest calculation, and tools of financial management. During the assignment time, with the enthusiasm, friendliness, extensive knowledge, and professional working style, the volunteer receives favors from colleagues. Although in the duration of the assignment in Quang Binh province, there are natural calamities such as big storms and lots of rain, additionally unfamiliarity with accommodation conditions in Vietnam, as well as the barriers of language, culture, volunteers tried to adapt to complete his tasks well.

A training course on Microfinance for RDPR's staffs On 26 January 2014, the volunteer came back Australian and ended five months of volunteer assignment in RDPR. His contributions are appreciated and recognized by RDPR Project Management Board, especially his contribution to improve the efficiency of RDPR’s microfinance programs in coming time.
